Two arrested with 10kg of weed in Bogura

Police have arrested two drug peddlers with 10 kg of weed from Shajahanpur in Bogura.

They were arrested from in front of Jabbar Hotel in Majhira union on Bogura-Dhaka highway of the upazila on Saturday (April 15) night.

The arrested were known as Faisal (35), son of Nurul Islam of Noapara village of Cumilla sadar, and Mustafa (30), son of late Ismail Ali of Parua village of Baliadanga upazila of Thakurgaon district.

District Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sharafat Islam confirmed the matter.

He said, “An operation was conducted in front of Jabbar Hotel in Shajahanpur after receiving information from the National Emergency Service 999. At that time, a bus coming from Khagrachari to Thakurgaon was raided and two people were arrested along with 10 kg of weed. They both boarded the bus from Cumilla.”

He further said, “A case has been filed against the two arrested under Narcotics Act with Shajahanpur police station. They were sent to court on Sunday (April 16) afternoon.”
