Production at CUFL halted due to gas shortage

Chittagong Urea Fertilizer Limited (CUFL), a state-owned urea fertilizer company, suspended its production due to non-availability of normal gas supply.

The authority suspended the fertilizer production of the factory from Friday (May 5) last.

Confirming the matter on Sunday (May 7) morning, CUFL managing director Mizanur Rahman said gas supplying company Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited was given a letter in this regard.

According to the CUFL authorities, due to the non-availability of gas, the factory’s fertilizer production has been stopped. When the gas pressure in the supply line of CUFL fell on Friday last, the decision to stop production was taken.
