Prisoner dies in Kashimpur Jail

A prisoner died in Kashimpur Central Jail in Gazipur on Friday (May 19) night.

The death of death-row convict Sumon Dhali, 44, son of Kadir Dhali hailing from Munshiganj, was confirmed by jail authority.

Senior Superintendent of Kashimpur High Security Jail Subrata Kumar Bala said Sumon Dhali was rushed to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital when he suddenly fell sick inside the jail at around 9:45 pm. On-duty doctor declared him dead there at 10:15 pm.

He said his body will be handed over to the relatives after legal procedures.
