Farmer killed in Sirajganj lightning strike

A farmer was killed in a lightning strike at Shahjadpur upazila in Sirajganj district on Saturday (May 27) morning.

The deceased was identified as Sultan Pramanik, 55, a resident of Char Angaru village of the upazila.

Local union parishad chairman Ziaul Alam said Sultan was working in a field in the morning. At that time, a lightning struck on him and later he lost his sense.

On information, family members rushed to the spot and took him to a hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahjadpur police station Nazrul Islam confirmed the incident.
