Mahbub Alam appointed as new police commissioner of Gazipur

The government has appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Md Mahbub Alam as the new commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP).

Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday (May 31).

This order will come into effect from May 31, the notification said.

Mahbub joined the police service as Assistant Superintendent of Police on January 25, 1999. 

He was promoted to DIG in May last year.
