BCC polls: BNP serves notice to 19 aspirants

BNP has issued a show-cause notice to 19 aspirants of the Barisal City Corporation (BCC) election for allegedly violating the party's decision not to join the polls.

The party sent the notice on Thursday night (June 1).

Md Jahidur Rahman Ripon, an official of Barishal metropolitan BNP unit office confirmed the matter on Friday noon (June 2).

Jahidur Rahman said that through the notice, the party also sought the written explanation of the 19 candidates in 24 hours as to why they would not face organizational action.
