Mother, two children drowned in Dinajpur

A woman and her two children drowned in a pond in Chuniapara area of Dinajpur Sadar upazila on Friday afternoon (June 2).

The deceased were known as Astami Bala, 28, her two sons Gautam Debnath, 8, and Pritam Debnath, 3.

Locals said the woman along with her kids went to a pond to take bath. At one stage, she lost her life while trying to save her two babies who were drowning at the pond.

Later, locals recovered the floating bodies of the three people.

Dinajpur Kotwali police station Inspector Golam Maula confirmed the matter.
