Bus rams auto-rickshaw, leaving three killed in Shayestaganj

At least three people have been killed and 10 others injured as a bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Shayestaganj in Habiganj.

The incident took place at Sudiyakhola area of the upazila on Sunday (June 4) morning.

All the deceased were known as driver and passengers of the auto-rickshaw while the injured of the bus.

The deceased were identified as Ziaul Hossain, 35, son of Azir Hossain of Loghu Chowdhury Para of Baniachong upazila, Musa Mia, 70, son of Abdul Barik of Sharifpur village of Ajmeriganj upazila and auto-rickshaw driver Rafiq Mia, 36, son of Abdul Haque of Ubahata village under Chunarughat upazila.

Nazmul Haque Kamal, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shayestanganj upazila, and Sub-Inspector (SI) Rafiqul Islam said a Dhaka-bound Mawa Modern Paribahan bus from Habiganj hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving three of the auto-rickshaw killed. Some 10 passengers of the bus sustained injuries as it plunged into a roadside ditch after the driver lost the control over steering.

Police recovered the bodies.
