Hanging bodies of mother, son found in Cumilla

Police on Thursday (June 8) morning recovered the bodies of woman and her three-year-old son hanging from a single rope in Homna upazila of Cumilla.

The bodies were recovered at about 11:30am from Fakirpara area under Bhasania union of the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Sazida Akter, 20, wife of Babu, a resident of Fakirpara and her three-year-old son Md Abdullah.

Homna Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam said, locals found the hanging bodies in the morning and informed police. Later, a team of police went to the spot and sent the bodies to Cumilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police, however, detained Sazida Akter’s husband Babu from the spot for interrogation.
