BCC polls: No campaign after today midnight

The election campaign for the Barishal City Corporation (BCC) polls is set to end today (Saturday) midnight.

No candidate will be allowed to continue campaign after midnight.  The polls are scheduled to be held on Monday (June 12).

The campaigning activities for the election began on May 26 with the allocation of election symbols.

Election Commission (EC) has taken all-out preparations to hold the polls in Barishal city in a free, fair and transparent manner.
They have installed around 1146 CCTV cameras in all the 126 centres.

There are a total of 2,76,298 voters in Barishal city. Of them, 1,37,489 are male and 1,38,809 are female.

In Barishal city, seven candidates are contesting for the mayoral post, 118 for councillor  and 42 for women reserved councillor posts.

In a public circular, it also said that traffic movement will be suspended in the city from Sunday midnight.
