Murad Hassan, former state minister for information and broadcasting, has also been excluded from Jamalpur’s Sarishabari Upazila Awami League unit as well after he was removed the diistrict unit as health and population affairs secretary.
He was not named in the 71-member full committee of Sarishabari upazila unit. Various discussions and criticisms are sparking over the matter as he was not included in any position.
According to party sources, the Trinamul Conference of Upazila Awami League was held on 25 September 2022 at Sarishabari Honors College ground. Awami League organizing secretary Mirza Azam MP was the chief guest in the conference. Awami League’s cultural affairs secretary Babu Asim Kumar Ukil, District Awami League member Sabina Yasmin, Jamalpur Municipality Mayor Sanoar Hossain Sanu and others were special guests.
In the second phase of the conference, the names of Sanowar Hossain Badsha as president and Harun Or Rashid, principal of Tejgaon College, as general secretary were announced. After that, a long 10 months passed but the full committee was not formed. As a result, discussion and criticism sparked. Finally, last Thursday (August 3) night, District Awami League President Advocate Muhammad Baki Billah and General Secretary Bijan Kumar Chandra signed a letter to approve the full committee of 71 members. His supporters were shocked as former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting was not in the new committee.
Advocate Muhammad Baki Billah, President of Jamalpur District Awami League, said Sarishabari Upazila Awami League has been approved by the 71-member full committee. There is no room for debate here.
