Gold worth Tk 1.5cr recovered at Ctg airport

Officials of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) have seized gold weighing 1.7 kilograms worth about Taka 1.5 crore from a passenger at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport on Friday.
The gold items were recovered from the passenger named Mohammad Ali who arrived here from Dubai on an Air Arabia flight at 9:00 am.
He was tactfully carrying the gold items in a rice cooker, said Ahsan Ullah, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Custom House.
Based on secrete information, the Customs team intercepted Md Ali at the airport with the gold items, he added.
Process to file a case with Patenga Police Station against him is underway.
