Jubo League leader’s throat-slit body recovered in Noakhali

Police recovered the throat-slit body of a local Jubo Legue leader from an orchard at Chatkhil upazila in Noakhali district on Saturday (September 23) morning.

The deceased was identified as Md Roni, 32, son of Shahjahan, a resident of Sundalpur village under Ward No-3 of Chatkhil municipality. He was a joint secretary of Chatkhil Jubo League unit.

Chatkhil Police Station sub-inspector (investigation) Mohammad Abu Jafor said locals found that the body was left in the orchard and informed police.

Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for autopsy.

At that time, police also recovered a sharp weapon, a pair of shoes, cigarette and some cards from the spot, he said.

Police launched an investigation to find out the actual reason behind the killing, the SI said.
