Tourist ship operation resumes on Teknaf-St Martin route

A tourist ship named ‘Baro Aulia’ carrying 500 tourists left Teknaf for St Martin’s on Wednesday (September 27), resuming tourist transport operations to the island.
The ship departed from Damdamia Jetty ghat in Teknaf around 10:00 am.
Abdul Malek, a trader on the island said it’s good news that the tourist ship arrived after a long time gap. After the arrival of tourists, the face of St. Martin has changed. Not only one ship but also other ships in the route should be allowed to boost the tourism sector here.
Cox’s Bazar Tour Operator Association’s senior assistant-president Hossainul Islam Bahadur said after getting the permission from the district administration, first ship arrived the island today.
Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Adnan Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
