AL leader demands Khaleda Zia’s treatment abroad

Abdul Motaleb Howladar, general secretary of Baufal upazila unit of ruling Awami League and upazila chairman, has urged authorities to allow BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to take treatment abroad even if it is necessary to amend the relevant law.

The AL leader made the call in a status from his own Facebook ID on Saturday.

After his post, several AL leaders condemned Motaleb, demanding his expulsion from the position of Upazila AL general secretary.

In another post on Monday (October 2), Motaleb stated “as the PM is called the ‘Mother of Humanity’, It will be proved once again if Khaleda Zia is allowed to go abroad. I wrote the post for political reasons, and I see nothing wrong with it”.

Patuakhali District Awami League President Kazi Alamgir Hossain said a show-cause notice has been served against Abdul Motaleb Howladar for his remark.
