Teesta flowing 5cm above danger level

The water level of the Teesta River is flowing 5cm above the danger level triggered by onrush of water as an embankment has broken down in Uttar Sikkim of India.
At 4:30pm on Wednesday (October 4), the water flowing at the Dalia point of the Teesta Barrage, the largest irrigation project in the country, measured 52.20cm, surpassing the normal level of 52.15cm. Earlier at 12pm, it was flowing 76cm under the danger level.
Residents near the river bank are passing their days in the panic of floods due to the increase in the water level of Teesta.
The local administration has taken steps to be caution about floods.
