Bangladesh has achieved huge development in cricket at the same time the popular game football lost its appeal equally in the country. Once upon a time cricket was run by patronize of football but time has changed many things. Today football is neglected. There are many sponsors for cricket but now it’s tough to find sponsors for football. The downfall of success in football is the main reasons behind this situation.

It would not be tough to get sponsorship, if Bangladesh played well in internationally. But, better footballer is needed to get good result in football. Bangladesh Football Federation took many initiatives to change the situation. Following the steps, the authority is trying to find expatriate footballers.

Some emigrants are on the track of Bangladesh football team. Bangladeshi born Wales footballer ‘Rizwan Ahmed’ plays in Wales, the country of Gareth Bale. He plays as left back player in club Dinas Powys.

The 19 year old footballer came here in Bangladesh leaving European. Risingbd.com senior sports correspondent talked with the footballer at Hotel Victoria recently. The interview is published below for the readers:

risingbd.com: There is a great debate in Bangladesh about the great players Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, whom do you like most?

Rizwan: It’s Messi. Ronaldo is good. I respect him. But, I like natural playing of Lionel Messi. I am also a fan of Argentina.

risingbd.com: You have joined in trial from couple of days? Are you confident about your chance in Bangladesh team?

Rizwan: The trials were good. Already I managed to cope with the environment and weather. The head coach can tell the details but I am hopeful about the scope of chance in Bangladesh team.

risingbd.com: Does your parents inspire to play football?

Rizwan: Yeah. Of course, my elder brother played in under-19 who inspired me most.
