JnU student’s suicide: Classmate, teacher arrested 

Assistant Proctor Deen Islam and classmate Amman Siddiqui have been arrested over the suicidal death of Jagannath University (JnU) student Fairuz Abantika. 

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman confirmed the news on Saturday noon. 

Fairuz Abantika was a student of the law department of Jagannath University (JnU). She committed ‘suicide’ at her Cumilla residence after posting a suicidal note on Facebook blaming the varsity teacher and a classmate on Friday night.

Following the incident, the students of JnU are staging demo on the campus from Friday midnight.
