HC orders closure of schools, madrasas till Thursday

The High Court has ordered the closure of primary, secondary schools and madrasa classes till Thursday (May 2) over the deaths of 18 people after reopening educational institutions amid the ongoing heat wave.

The High Court bench of Justice KM Kamrul Kader and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order on Monday (April 29).

However, the order will not be applicable for the institutions that have air conditioning and are holding examinations.

The move came after lawyer Md Monir Uddin presented relevant news reports of several daily newspapers regarding the severe heat wave before the court.
