3rd Shitalakkha bridge construction begins in May

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj:  Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that the construction work of third Shitalakkha bridge will begin in May of 2016.

The tender process of third Shitalakkha bridge is going on, the minister said this while laying the foundation stone of a bridge at Charsyedpur on Thursday morning.

Roads and Highways Department will implement the Third Shitalakkha bridge construction project at an expense of Tk 377.63 crore.

Of the total expense, the Saudi Fund for Development will provide Tk311.65 crore while the government will bear Tk65.98 crore.

The length of the bridge will be 1290 metre and width 22.10 metre. The four-lane bridge will have 2.13km access road.
