Investigation to uncover real reason: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said probe has been started over the incident of shooting former army major dead by police at Marine Drive Road in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar. Objective investigation will uncover real reason behind the incident.

The Home Boss said this in a press briefing at his residence in the capital Dhanmondi on Sunday.

Home Minister said, ‘Local administration and top officials of police and armed forces are investigating into the matter. Making any comment in this connection would not be right now.’

He further said, ‘Anyway, something happened that cannot be denied. The government has formed a probe committee with importance. Because, the government is committed to bring the culprit under the law. The culprit must be brought to justice.’

In reply to a query, that policeman has yet not been suspended temporarily. But it is under discussion. Steps will be taken on how the probe body will recommend in this regard.’
