Vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign deferred for a week

The national Vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign has been deferred for a week.

The two-week long campaign will start across the country from October 4 and continue till October 17 instead of September 26 to October 8.

Dr S M Mustafizur Rahman, Line Director of National Nutrition Services (NNS), came up with the information.

Some 2.2 crore children will be fed vitamin ‘A’ plus capsule during the campaign.

Children aged between six to 11 months will be given blue vitamin ‘A’ plus capsules, while children aged between 12 months to 59 months will be given red capsules, Mustafizur Rahman said.

Children aged below six months or over five years or with any kind of illness should not be given the capsule.

This time, the campaign has been deferred by three months due to coronavirus pandemic.
