Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to be more active over border security and work with an attitude of service to the country and the nation.
She also issued directives for them to give utmost importance in protecting the independence and sovereignty of the country as well as stopping smuggling on the border.
The premier said this while addressing as the chief guest the basic training course completion parade of the BGB 95th batch joining virtually from her official residence Gonobhabon on Saturday (December 5).
Mentioning that discipline is the most important element for any force, the Prime Minister said, “It should always be kept in mind that discipline is most needed for any force, everyone should keep this in mind. The country has become independent by adopting an ideal and everyone must maintain that ideal.”
She also called upon the BGB members to be fearless in carrying out their duties besides implementing the orders of the seniors properly and working with sympathy towards the juniors.
She said, “Everyone has to work for betterment of the country in future.”
PM also called upon the newly recruited BGB personnel to perform these four main principles of morale, brotherhood, discipline and efficiency with sincerity and honesty.
Sheikh Hasina said, “The Awami League government has continued its efforts to establish the BGB as an international standard and modern force through modernization.”
“That is why we have adopted Border Guard Bangladesh Vision 2041,” he said.
