Verdict on case application against 4 over Al Jazeera report Thursday

A Dhaka court has set Thursday (February 18) for the verdict on a case filed against four people, including the director general (editing council) of the Qatar-based television channel Al Jazeera, Mostafa Suwag, for allegedly spreading “false and fabricated” information about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed.

Moshiur Malek, founder and president of Bangabandhu Foundation, filed the case with the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ashek Imam on Wednesday (February 17) morning.

Other accused in the case are: Zulkarnain Saer alias Sami, Independent World Report’s journalist Tasneem Khalil and British journalist David Bergman.
