Gold prices drop by Tk 1,516 per bhori

The prices of gold have dropped by Tk 1,516 to Tk 72,667 a bhari (11.664 grams) in the local market.

Meanwhile, silver prices have remained unchanged.

The revised prices will be effective from Wednesday (March 3).

This was confirmed in a press release issued by Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) yesterday night.

The decision has been taken to balance the local market in line with the prices of gold in the international market, the press release said.

According to the new price set by BAJUS, the price of 22-karat gold has been fixed at Tk 71,150 a bhari while the price of 21-karat gold decreased to Tk 68,000 a bhari and 18-karat gold to Tk 59,253 a bhari.

The price of traditional gold has been set at Tk 48,930 a bhari, the release said.
