‘Hena was killed in planned way’

Housewife Hasna Hena Alam was killed in the capital’s Gulshan, police suspect. Her husband Shakib Alam and other members of his family were also involved in the murder. Investigators found preliminary information that Hena was killed at her father-in-law’s house.

Gulshan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Hasan on Friday (April 9) afternoon told risingbd that Shakib, husband of the slain housewife, is currently on remand. He is giving important information. They are verifying the information he is providing. 

According to the sources close to the investigation, an altercation took place between Shakib and Hasna Hena around 10:00 pm on Friday (April 2). Shakib punched and kicked Hena in front of her 9-month-old son. At that time, two maids of the house, Shakib’s parents, brother and sister-in-law came forward hearing the shout. Even then Shakib was beating Hena. Shakib’s elder brother Fahim removed him. By then Hasna Hena had lost her sense.  However, no one took her to any hospital. When water and juice were poured on Hen’'s face, it was spilling out. Later Shakib’s parents, brothers and sisters went to their respective rooms. Hena and Shakib were in their room. Later, Shakib, with the help of his brother and his wife, wiped the blood from the bed sheets and floor and destroyed the evidence of murder. Once Hena died. The next morning Shakib covered Hena’s body in a white sheet and drove out of the house to take her to the hospital for treatment. On the way, Shakib staged a drama about a private car accident at Hatirjheel in the capital.

Police said they were trying to hide Hena’s murder from the very beginning. Evidence of involvement of Shakib, his parents, brothers and sisters has been found. Shakib’s brother has been on the run with his wife since the murder.

According to police, Shakib did not say anything clearly about the murder till Friday. He may be remanded again.
