US expatriate journalist-playwright Ahmed Musa dies

Ahmed Musa, a New York (USA) expatriate journalist, writer and playwright, has passed away at the age of 68 years.

He breathed his last on Saturday (April 17) at a US hospital. He had been suffering from incurable cancer for a long time. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.

Zakaria Masud Ziko, editor of the weekly Aajkal published from New York, confirmed the news of his death.

Ahmed Musa has long had lung problems and was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Chemotherapy was going on.

He has been living in the United States for almost a decade. He was physically very ill. During the winter in New York, he had breathing difficulties because of a lack of oxygen in the air.

Ahmed Musa came to New York in 2011. He came to the United States with his wife to become an immigrant in the United States in the Diversity Visa (DV) lottery and began his life in exile. Then his son and daughter came to the United States. While in New York, he was the editor of the New York-based weekly Aajkal for about three years.

Ahmed Musa, a journalist, writer and playwright, has been mourned by people from all walks of life, including various social and cultural organizations in the United States. Members of the Editors' Council, comprising the editors of New York's top eight newspapers, also expressed their condolences.
