Heavy traffic jam on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway

Hundreds of vehicles have remained stuck on Dhaka-Mymensingh  highway due to long tailbacks since Tuesday morning, causing immense and untold sufferings to passengers.

The highway is experiencing a 12-kilometre traffic jam due to heavy rain in the morning and repairing work. As a result, vehicles are spending at least three hours to cross the road of 30 minutes.

A Zahid Hasan of Gazipur said a 12-kilometre traffic jam has created from Chandona Chowrasta to Tongi Bridge area. Vehicles are spending at least three hours to cross the road of 30 minutes.  As a result, passengers are suffering more.

Sources said the traffic jam occurred due to heavy rain in the morning and a trolley have become out of order in Dhour bridge area.  Repairing work of the highway is also a reason for the traffic jam.
