Health minister Zahid Maleque has said that all people over the age of 18 years will get vaccinated for coronavirus from now on. Directives had already been given to the government’s ICT department to take initiative for allowing people over 18 years to register through Surokkha app.
The minister said this while speaking at a virtual programme on Saturday (July 24).
He also put emphasis on maintaining social distance and wearing masks to protect people of the country from the Covid epidemic.
He further said, “Currently, the government has over one crore doses of vaccines at hands. Another 2 crore jabs will arrive here by next month. Thus, the government will get about 21 crore doses of vaccines by the beginning of next year, including 3 crore from China, 7 crore from Russia, 7 crore from Johnson & Johnson and 3 crore from AstraZeneca. We can hope that the government will be able to vaccinate at least 80 percent of the country’s people.
