Two sisters lynched on suspicion of theft, one killed

Two sisters were lynched on suspicion of stealing a gold chain, leaving one killed at Nawabganj in Dhaka. The deceased was known as Runa.

The other who received injury has been undergoing treatment. She was identified as Popy.

The incident took place on Sunday (September 26).

The sisters’ brother Jahur Ali filed a case in this regard. Police has already arrested one Jahura Begum over the incident.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Mrittunjoy Kumar Kirtuniya of Nawabganj Police Staion, also Investigation Officer (IO) of the case said, “The arrestee was produced before a court on Monday (September 27). The court placed her on a two-day remand after police sought a 5-day remand.”
