Number of dengue patients surpass 8000

The number of people diagnosed with dengue across the country this year has exceeded 8,000. A total of 145 people were admitted to hospitals with dengue fever in the past 24 hours.

Of the 145 people newly infected with dengue, 140 are the residents of the capital Dhaka and the remaining are from outside Dhaka.

At present, the number of dengue patients admitted to different hospitals of the country have stood at 933. Of them, 770 patients are admitted to various public and private hospitals in Dhaka and the remaining 163 admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka.

A total of 8,096 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals from January 1 to September 9 this year. Of them, 6,588 are the residents of the capital Dhaka and the remaining are from outside Dhaka.

So far, 31 people died of dengue this year.

As many as 7,132 dengue patients have made recoveries so far.

The health emergency operations center and control room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the information in a report on Saturday (September 10).
