‘BNP must hold rally at Suhrawardy Udyan’

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Khandaker Golam Faruk said BNP must hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan. Otherwise, the arrangement should be made in an open place. If the rally is allowed in Nayapaltan, there may be a risk of chaos in Dhaka city.

The DMP commissioner said this while addressing reporters at the DMP media center in the capital on Wednesday (December 7).

He said, "The public is our main concern. We do not want to take any risk when public safety is in question."

"They [BNP] can go to Suhrawardy Udyan, Kalshi ground or Tongi Ijtema field. We won't take the responsibility for any kind of subversive activities on any open road or at Naya Paltan," Khandaker Golam Faruk added.
