‘US imposed sanctions against RAB based on wrong info’

State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam has claimed that the United States imposed sanctions on Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) based on wrong information.

The minister said this while participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President's speech in the National Parliament on Tuesday (January 31).

He said that on December 10, 2021, USA banned RAB, one of the most successful law and order forces of Bangladesh, based on wrong information.

At least 15-20 important high-level meetings were held in the last one year on various issues, including the issue of RAB, he added.
