Youth organization "SONGKOLPO Foundation" got Society Registration

SONGKOLPO Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to work for the betterment of society and helping the underprivileged people of Bangladesh. 

The organization started its journey on 8th January 2014, with a dream of changing the lives of street children.

The first supporting project that SONGKOLPO initiated was the distribution of new dresses to 100 street children for Eid Ul Fitr in 2014. After that throughout the last 7 years, SONGKOLPO works on more than 20 different projects under 9 main programs such as Project Eid Smile, Project Raincoat, Project Winter Smile, Project Qurbani, Project Cleanup, etc.

One of the founding objectives and the most important initiative of SONGKOLPO Foundation is SONGKOLPO School, which is running under the education program. SONGKOLPO School was started in 2016 with 6 students and now going stronger with 70 students in 4 different classes. This school provides free-of-cost education to those children who are deprived of education and other basic needs.

SONGKOLPO promotes sustainable livelihood and so started the Poriborton initiative to make poor families self-reliant and so far, has donated 2 sewing machines and 1 rickshaw by collecting Zakat Fund. In 2020, keeping the economic downfall in mind during the pandemic, SONGKOLPO launched an initiative named Feeding Bangladesh to provide food for poverty-stricken families and people. Just in one year, more than 12000 packets of cooked food have been distributed all around Bangladesh. So far almost 600 families got food bags containing foods for 7/15/30 days from SONGKOLPO during the lockdown.

Not only foods it also distributed masks and sanitizers as well. SONGKOLPO also tries to provide basic health services such as blood pressure measurements, blood group tests, etc. Apart from these SONGKOLPO also launch events according to necessity such as fund collection for flood and fire-affected families and so on.

So far more than 1500 people have worked with SONGKOLPO voluntarily and more than 1,00,000 poor and disadvantaged people directly or indirectly benefited from SONGKOLPO.

Through all these years of hard work, SONGKOLPO Foundation got registered by the “Office of Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms” under the “Societies Registration Act 1860” of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The Registration number of SONGKOLPO Foundation is S-13673/2021.

“Last eight years haven’t been so easy for us, there were ups and downs but now this acknowledgment has become a boost for SONGKOLPO Foundation to do more projects and to take on bigger initiatives to help the vulnerable people for giving back their basic needs and improvement in their lives”.
