BNP’s demand of dialogue meaningless: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that BNP leaders are irrationally placing the issue of dialogue in media but the BNP’s demand of dialogue is meaningless as the party is isolated from people.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this in a statement on Wednesday.

He said the incumbent government is committed to sustaining the country’s advancement.

“Bangladesh Awami League never leaves the interest of the country in the face of any conspiracy and pressure…it never bows down to anyone and will not do so. We are committed to maintaining the advancement of Bangladesh,” he said in a statement.

Quader said the AL is always committed to flourishing democracy in the country and it remains open the path of freedom of expression for anyone aiming to make the journey of democracy smooth and establish the ideology of democracy.

To this end, he said, acknowledging the reforms the AL bought to sustain the country’s democracy and electoral system, anyone interested can submit his or her proposals to make the path of democracy smooth.

Quader said the AL is not only working to go to the state power through elections but also to strengthen the base of the country’s democracy.
