Rail link of North Bengal with Dhaka snapped

A truck has got stuck at the Sonakhali railway crossing located on the border of Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur and Mirzapur upazila in Tangail, suspending train service between North Bengal and Dhaka.

Abul Khayer Chowdhury, Station Master of Joydebpur Railway Junction, confirmed the incident around 9 am on Monday (July 14).

Station Master Abul Khayer said the disruption took place around 9am when the truck got stuck at the Sonakhali Rail Crossing, snapping train communication between Dhaka and the northern parts of the country.

Efforts were underway to remove the truck and restore normal train services, the station master added.
