Foreign Affairs Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen has said that nobody has spoken up over Al Jazeera report and Mushtaq Ahmed’s death when he held talks with various leaders during his visit to the United States.
He said, “Foreign embassies issue statements expressing concern whenever something happens in Bangladesh. It should be stopped.”
The Minister was speaking to reporters at his State Department office on Monday (March 1) after a visit to US.
He said, “During his visit to the United States, he had meetings with many people, including the foreign minister, some congressmen and the UN secretary general, no none at the meeting questioned about the Al Jazeera report or the death of Mushtaq Ahmed. Only Bangladeshi journalists who work in US have asked about these issues.”
