3 injured while making bombs in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Two siblings among three were injured in an explosion while they were making crude bombs at Narayanpur village of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila on Friday morning.

The injured were identified as Sumon Hossain, 30, son of Humayun Kabir of Narayanpur, Jahidul Islam, 45, and his brother Arif Hossain, 40, both sons of Majed Ali of Boroipara of the same upazila.

They all were undertaking treatment at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital in police custody.

Police also arrested two suspected associates of the injured. They are Mahfuz Alam, 22, son of Mojibur Rahman of Narayanpur village, and Hamidur Rahman, 30, son of Jalal Hossain of the same village.

Quoting injured Arif Rajpara Police Station Offficer-in-Charge (OC) said several people including the injured three were making crude bombs at Sumon`s house. Accidently a bomb exploded leaving them injured. writs of the two were blown off by the explosion. Later, they were taken to Rajshahi.

OC added that associates who took them Rajshahi went on hiding leaving them at laxmipur More in the city. Being informed, police took them to hospital.

Hamidur and Mahfuz were arrested when they came to visit the injured in hospital, the OC added.
