9 killed as relief-laden truck plunges into ditch

Bandarban Correspondent: At least nine people were killed and 10 other were injured as a relief-laden truck plunged into a road side ditch in the district on Thursday morning.
The accident took place around 8.00am in Chakdhala area of Naikhongchhari.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Bangladesh Red Crescent’s Bandarban unit General Secretary AKM Jahangir said a truck carrying Red Crescent’s relief goods for Rohingya people plunged into a ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving six dead on the spot and 13 injured.
The injured people were taken to a local community clinic where three people died.
Several injured persons have been taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
