BDB to contest polls with ‘Kula’, but…

Staff Correspondent: Bikalpadhara Bangladesh (BDB) will contest the upcoming 11th general election with its party symbol ‘Kula’ (winnowing fan).

However, some candidates may contest the polls with ‘boat’ (symbol of the ruling Awami League), if they can reach understandings with AL-led 14-party alliance.

BDB told this to the Election Commission (EC) through letter on Thursday evening.

BDB organising secretary Barrister Omar Faruk handed over the letter signed the party general secretary Major (rtd) Abdul Mannan.

Earlier in the afternoon, EC secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed said, “BDB was not included in the list of parties, which are interested in contesting polls with ‘boat’, submitted by AL to EC.”
