HC verdict on Zubair murder case today

Staff Correspondent: The High Court will deliver its verdict on Wednesday over the sensational murder case of Jahangirnagar University (JU) student Zubair Ahmed.

The HC bench of Justice Bhabani Prasad Singha and Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam will announce the verdict.

Deputy Attorney General Jahid Sarwar Kajal and assistant attorney general Nirmol Kumar Das confirmed the matter.

Earlier on Tuesday, the verdict got delayed as Justice Mustafa is currently on leave.

On January 9, the High Court fixed January 23 for delivering its verdict on the death reference and appeals in sensational Zubair Ahmed murder case.

On February 8, 2015, Dhaka’s Fourth Speedy Trial Tribunal judge ABM Nizamul Haque had sentenced five people to death and six others to life in prison.
