Economic Correspondent: At least three workers were injured in a clash between Soan Group Garment workers and policemen on Tuesday.

The clash erupted in front of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association building when the agitated workers were trying to enter into the building to pay due wages, this noon.

Earlier, Soan Group Garment workers issued a one-week ultimatum to BGMEA to pay due wages for workers of the closed factory and to reopen it soon.

"If, we, of the closed factory workers, are not paid our dues within one week, we will go for a tougher movement,” the workers warned authorities concerned while issuing ultimatum.

The BGMEA, however, at that time, assured the workers that they would be paid after a discussion with the owner of the factory, in this regard.

But the BGMEA has not taken initiatives to pay the dues.
