Fire at resident in capital: Woman dies

Staff Correspondent: A woman has died after being fallen sick by smoke as fire was broken out in a residential building in the capital`s Dhanmondi area.

The deceased was identified as Monnujan, 55. She died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital around 5:00 am on Sunday while undergoing treatment.

Sources said fire broke out at the ground floor of 85/2 residential building of Dhanmondi-15 around 1:20 am on Saturday night. Informed, four units of fire brigade doused the fire after their frantic efforts for four hours. But the woman fell sick by the dense smoke of the fire and died in the hospital.

However, the cause of fire could not be known immediately.
