Govt to file a sedition charge against Aslam

Staff Correspondent: Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque said that the government has already cleared the way to file a sedition charge against Aslam.

The IGP made the disclosure while addressing newsmen after a programme held at Rajarbagh Police Line in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.

He said, "Rule is, the government must endorse a sedition charge before a case is filed in this regard."

He also said, “We have found evidence that Aslam conspired with an Israeli politician to overthrow the Awami League-led government.”

“A sedition case will be lodged against him with Gulshan Police Station by Thursday,” he added.
