Two Baul dens set on fire

Chuadanga Correspondent: Two Bouls (Sufi Singers) were reportedly assaulted and their dens were set on fire by masked criminals in the district`s Gabindapur under Damurhuda upazila on Friday night.

The victims were identified as Julmat Khan and Nogen Halder.

Julmat Khan, one of the victims, said, "Several criminals stormed into their houses and continued for about half and a hour. They also threatened to kill us."

Abu Jihad M Fakhrul Alam Khan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Damurhuda Police Station, said some 8 to 10 miscreants stormed into Julmat Khan`s den. They blindfolded Julmat and his brethren Nogen Halder and then cut off their hair.

At one stage, criminals set two dens of them on fire in late night, he added.

The OC added that investigation has already been started to find out who carried out the attacks. The victims were told to file written allegations.
