Anwarul MTB`s independent director

Mr. Anwarul Amin has recently been appointed as Independent Director of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. (MTB).

Mr. Amin, a very senior and respected banker of the country, graduated from Westminster Bank Institute of Banking, Oaken Holt, Oxfordshire, UK. He is the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Impact Foundation Bangladesh, a charitable Trust dedicated to the prevention of disability.

He is also the President of Bangladesh-China People`s Friendship Association and Chairman, Kayfin Consultants Ltd., a management consultancy firm.

Mr. Amin has over 36 years of experience in managerial & senior executive positions in banking. He entered banking service in December 1955 as Covenanted Officer in Muslim Commercial Bank.

He was the Joint Managing Director of Eastern Banking Corporation in the then East Pakistan. He served as the General Manager & Deputy CEO of Bangladesh Shilpa Bank and as General Manager & Country Head of BCCI, Bangladesh, China and Japan.

He was the General Manager for UK of Uttara Bank and was assigned the responsibility by Bangladesh Government for opening the first ever overseas branch of a Bangladeshi Bank.
