Ban second marriage by framing laws: AG

DHAKA, June 22: In order to reduce sufferings of married women, country`s highest legal officer has suggested the government to ban second marriage of men by framing laws.

Attorney General Mahbub-e-Alam gave the suggestion while speaking at an opinion-sharing meeting on the amendment of criminal procedures organised by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel in the capital on Saturday.

The Attorney General said it has become essential to ban secon marriage by formulating a law. Sufferings of women are increasing for multiple marriages of men.
