CID seizes assets worth Tk 178 crore

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has seized assets worth Tk Tk 178 crore which was amassed through illegal drug trade.

CID chief Mohammad Ali Mia disclosed this at a press conference at Malibagh CID Headquarters on Wednesday. 

CID is now investigating a total of 35 drug money laundering cases. In the 10 cases, the actual godfathers have been brought under the law. Their bank accounts, houses, cars and land have been seized. So far, the CID has arrested 122 accused in the cases. Charge-sheets have been submitted in some cases, he said.
