Raid in city spa centres: 2 remanded, 16 women sent to jail

A Dhaka court has placed two persons, who were detained in a raid in city spa centres, on remand for different terms in two separate cases filed Gulshan Police Station under human trafficking law.

Of them, Ruhe Alam, detained from Life Style Spa, was remanded for three days while Asaduzzaman, held from Mango Spa, for two days.

The court also sent 16 women, who detained in the raid, to jail after rejecting their bail petitions.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqul Islam passed the order.

The women who were sent to jail are: Lily Rema, 25, Sahid, 25, Hawa Akter, 25, Sharmin Akter, 25, Madhabi Chirang, 25, Koli Haque, 24, Suma Sangma, 27, Tina Khatun, 26, Rubi, 28, Lucky, 28, Sadia, 28, Rumana Akter, 20, Hira Moni, 20, Mamataj Begum, 35, Lucky Akter Mim, 20 and Mahfuza Sathi, 22.

They all were detained in a raid at different spa centres at Gulshan Navana Tower on Sunday night.
