Ramadan starts in 50 villages in Chandpur

Residents of as many as 50 villages in Chandpur district including Sadra Darbar Sharif of Hajiganj, began the holy fasting month of Ramadan Monday, in accordance with Saudi Arabia.

People of the area are offered Taraweeh prayers in the mosque on Sunday night (March 10) and sehri in the early hours of Monday.

Pir Dr Bakibillah Mishkat Chowdhury, Pirzada of Sadra Darbar Sharif, said the followers of this Darbar Sharif, since 1928, have been fasting in the month of Ramadan, following the moon sighting of Saudi Arabia and Middle Eastern countries.

He also said that we have received news of the sighting of the moon in Saudi Arabia. We have confirmed it ourselves. So, fasting is starting from Monday in our villages.
